Fall in Texas *

This is about as good as it gets for fall color here. Actually, the brownish yellow turned out pretty good when backlit by the sun. :)

Fall color is one thing that I really miss since I moved here to Texas. I grew up in the north & we had beautiful reds, oranges, & yellows. Oh well, here we have green, brown, & on the ground.

I voted for this because it really does capture well what fall in Texas looks like. Some years, there is tremendous color in the red oak trees. It's a kind of red like I've seen in no other trees. To best get a view of that glorious red, though, there must be frost hard enough to kill the chlorophyl but not hard enough to kill the leaves entirely. Ensuing warm weather just builds the red. Even with the glorious red oaks, though, what you see here still remains a common sight. I like the composition, although I tend to prefer arches to rise from the left rather than the right, for what reason I don't know. -- Victor

Jeannie, One advantage is the lower amount of raking and no need to prepare for several feet of snow! About thi image...I think it is interesting and nice. It is a different take ont he traditional fall foliage photo. The light works well...and so does the DOF. Cheers, :-D
