6th Place
Above the Fog*
by CindyD (Sis-Q)

Took a drive up the mountain today to see if I could
find any misty crag type shots. Unfortunately the peak
was totally socked in. But there were 2 layers of cloud,
1 low, and 1 high. The sun broke out on my way down
illuminateing this beautiful scene looking down at the
lower cloud layer. The ridge breaking through with
the trees on top is just above my house.

Even though it was cloudy on top, there were already lots
of people enjoying the first signficant snowfall of the year.
A lot of boards and skis out there . . . and I think a lot
of people missing from work today. lol

P.S. - the reason the background is so dark is the sun
was not reaching it. I know it looks like 2 images, but
it isn't - it really did look about like that.

I have to agree and only have one thing to add: interestingly, it looks like surf on a beach in thumbnail view...

Thanks people. Yes it was a spectacular scene. If I had time I would have shot a pano - as it went for miles in either direction. The sun on that white fog layer was so blinding I almost had to shoot this with my eyes closed! Cindy

Gorgeous shot - I love the constant swapping of the gentle diagonal lines in this. It must have been spectacular just being there.
