Thanks everyone. Hey, this, if you hadn't already guessed is also a mirrored image. I try in any of the mirrored images to distract from that fact, but also leave clues, which you will find in this image. Thanks again for all of the comments.

I dont know if the thing to the left adds or detracts

Hey everyone, thanks for the comments, and taking the time to look.

Traveller, :) glad that you keep coming back, that it always nice to hear. What makes you so sure that the lens produced that effect? ;)

Chris

Dear Chris, I keep coming back to this image also...as you intend for people to be compelled to do...lol. Interestingly, I also like the way the horizon is bowed. Though I would not think that a 35mm lens, really 50mm with crop factor, would produce this effect. Nice, Best Wishes, Traveller

Chris,
I like the dreamy effect.

Olaf, thanks for taking time to comment. To me I want the eye to explore the image, and stay moving around, not really focus you on one specific thing, I feel that most of my images have little details that you find each time you look at them. To me this image moves the eye, the brightness of the boat against the darker dock pulls the eye, the arrow shape of the boat points you back into the image, across the verticle planks, which lend you up to the horizontal planks, and out to the water, then the bouy. Hopefully, if I have done my job right, the boat pulls you again, maybe this time sending you further across the image to examine the right side of the dock, and the variances from the left side, and around. The image is meant to leave a dreamy, calm, comfortable feeling - like a day dream can be. Chris

By the way, I meant to say that I like the dreamy Photoshop treatment.

The symmetry is so strong here that I am wondering if the boat in the lower left corner is a distraction? Where do you want my eye to go to - to the boat or to the silhouettes in the water?
