I was caught in the same trap as the rest of you. I keep wondering why I like it. I guess it's just done well all around and you have to appreciate that.

Yes, this image has an undefinable quality that draws one in (in other words, I'm clueless why it works so well). I looked at it for several minutes without having seen the title and then realised the title doesn't matter. I think this image is actually quite masterful. -Michael

Technically I think that you are correct, this is done well. I think that the sense of solitude, the bars on the window, texture and decay of the walls, the stare off in the distance all give this image a mood which comes across.
It's funny you say that Olaf, because I looked at it for a while and thought the same thing. There's several shots in the gallery which all pick out people from behind, but this one just seemed different. It's a good exposure in difficult conditions. There's a lot of character in the walls. Off centre composion blah blah blah. At the same time it has a lot of things that should make it a dull picture, but somehow, it just works. Anybody else want to chime in?
