Who said that?

Hmmm, Phil can see it and his eyesight is rubbish.

Thank you guys. Iso3200, to be honest I can barely see any hair (using a laptop).

Phil, this is a similar pic but not the same as the one in CTF.

Thanks again for the comments and advice -- aam1234

aam - I see you have changed this image in the ctf challenge (the hair is gone), but I don't think you've changed the image here.
Phil

I still see hair. What did you change exactly?
Canon DSLR Challenge02-Sep-2005 15:10
Done. Hope you like it better now. And thanks for the help -- aam1234

Got it now, thanks Olaf -- aam1234

Not the shadow! I am talking about the left edge of the image. Either include more of the girl so as to connect the hair with the body OR clone out the tuft of real hair on the left edge of the picture. --Olaf.dk
Canon DSLR Challenge02-Sep-2005 13:11
BTW guys, do you mean the hair on the real girl or her shadow. Was about to edit then got confused.

Thanks -- aam1234

Thanks everybody for the comments and suggestions.

ISO3200 and Olaf.dk, I agree with you that w/o the real girl the photo might look rather plain.

Olaf.dk, I'll try both of your suggestions and pick one of them.

Thanks again -- aam1234

After reading my previous comment, I feel the need to clarify: what I meant was that either clone out the hair or perhaps include more of the girl, so that the hair is not floating in space. --Olaf.dk

On a first viewing I thought the person was a bit of a distraction. But after viewing a few more times I think the photo would be too plain without the inclusion. Just the little splash of colour adds, and it seems almost as if she is watching the story unfold on the wall. I'd lose the tuft of hair of possible though. The top right darkening helps frame it. Funny, because on first looks, I thought it was a bit of a dull snapshot, but after seeing again, it seems much more.

I like the inclusion of the "live" person. I'd clone out her hair though - or perhaps a bit more of her (left edge further left)? --Olaf.dk

Yes, that was what I meant. I don't think it would look like a PS filter but a well placed set up of people to just get the shadow. I think the effect of the mother looking down at her child is excellent. I think the image would be stronger w/o the "real" child in the pic.
Canon DSLR Challenge01-Sep-2005 11:14
Opps, sorry Dorys for the misunderstanding, and thanks Phil for the clarification.

I purposely left the kid there fearing the pic might look like a PS filter without her (I think).
Canon DSLR Challenge01-Sep-2005 10:38
I think Dorys means the fact that you can see part of the actual child as well as the shadow.
Phil

Why? that's the whole point. Her mom is making sure her daughter is alright. My little niece is barely 7 years old.

I like this composition overall. It does definitely tell a story, but I'm a bit distracted by both the shadow on the upper right but mostly by the hint of the kid in mom's shadow. How about a clone job?? :-)
