Chilling! Ergo, clearly it works. -Michael

True...but I think emphasizing it might have made the image stronger. The pose does add to the tension, as he does look very uncomfortable, his arm looks almost broken. I think that you have done a very good job creating the effect. Chris

Chris - thanks for your comments. I actually took only 1 shot in this position, the rest were less "stressed" with the hands away from the legs, but somehow didn't work anything like as well as this position.
It's possible the tie between legs and arms is not visible beneath them... :)

I don't really care for this image (strictly subject matter), but I think it is a great approach on this challenge, and you don't have to care for the image to appreciate the art or the thoughts that it provokes. I really like how you used the graininess to compliment the theme 'hostage'. Technically, this guy looks really uncomfortable, but I don't think that the hands are tied to the feet and I am wondering why he would put so much stress on is arms like that if they were tied together. To me that makes a give away that it is a fake, which we all are hoping it is, but also makes this image IMHO not as strong as it could be.

No wonder you couldn't sleep! This idea would scare me awake too. You've gone from photographing pretty blonde toddlers to tied up hostages...................hmmmm.....there could be something in that. Are the challenges messing with your head, Phil? LOL!
Excellent idea, outstanding execution (is that the right word to use here?)

Geez... you people are sick! LOL Between Grant and Phil I have enough nightmare fodder for a week! It's ironic that I love the most graphic of horror movies but still images of the same ilk disturb me to no end. Good job Phil.

More wonders from you. I just commented on Sledgehammer and now this...they are soooooo different...but this is....spectacular also. I don't like it in the sense that being kidnapped is always the major spook for me....but you've caught it, that's for sure. Best Wishes, Traveller

Pillow removed, might be a bit clumsy though, might revert back...
No, no help on this, all my own work. The tape was looser than it looks - and I could actually see though it which helped. plus the remote switch was another help.
Always good to try something different :)

Hey - a trip to the darkside. That'll upset some. Get those creative juices flowing Phil - I was surprised at the sig on this. How did you manage to tie yourself up and operate the shutter. (I'm just guessing this isn't one of your workmates helping you out) Overall good effort. The midtone bias and grain suits the mood. That pillow looks a bit too comfortable though.
