Welcome aboard with your first entry. It's a great building and I really like the composition on this image. Like Lee, I do think you should rotate the image just a bit. This is a case where I think the major vertical/horizontal elements should be, well, vertical/horizontal. Since you mentioned that contrast was a headache, you might try a selective color adjustment layer and boost the black just a bit. -Michael

Hi Cat! great to see you guys here too.

The original is RAW then convert it using the Channel Mixer. However, I got into trouble after flattening the image then playing with contrast. Maybe it's better to play with the contrast in the Channel Mixer instead (that tells you how little I know about PP). Will try that shortly.

Btw (related to the crooked horizon as Lee mentioned), ships sway when they are at sea, don't you think ;)

Thanks for the comment & suggestion Cat.

Hi Aam!!! Great picture you have here. Nice bw. I would stay away from the brightness/contrast feature. That will create problems that you just mentioned. Was this originally a color pic? If so see if you can explore the channel mixer. Create a new adjustment layer with channel mixer. Turn greyscale and preview on and experiment with the sliders... --Cat

Hi Lee. Thank you for the comment. I agree with you on both points you mentioned. The contrast gave me a big headache, when I increase it certain parts get very dark. Maybe I should try new technique such as dodge & burn.

Thanks again for your comment.

AAM 1234, Welcome to CSLR! Cool building, (*) It looks like you need to bump up the contrast some and slightly rotate the image to the left. Your tower is crooked. theFly
