Natural Shadow

I photographed this today at a state park, in the swamp (well I wasn't IN the swamp :-)

What you are seeing is a natural shadow of leaves / branch against the swamp moss on the water

Mark, this is such a simple vision, completely effective, and totally lovely. -Michael

143.96.... under the 150k limit now :-) I'm legal!
Still, I know it's a bit of a weird / unusual image

I like the effect of "leaves on leaves" in this shot. The dark green of the shadows on the light green of the pond plants makes them look almost like actual leaves instead of shadows of leaves. I also like the disconnected look that the thin branches create here.

This image is also, unfortunately over the 150KB size limit for the competition. I see it as 153.63 KB (157313 bytes) from PBase. I wonder if you could resave it with a bit more compression to get it down just a bit. Thanks :)

Thanks, Cat. Reason they don't look "connected, is that the leaves are at the far end of a branch and that part is VERY thin veins that did not appear in the shadow well I guess? Thanks. Markjayjay

Nice one Mark. Looked like the leave are floating on the surface, till I noticed that they are actual shadows... unique. Its all the more interesting that they don't look like they are connect to any branch anywhere. -Cat
