This is the Ferris Wheel on the Navy Pier in Chicago. The first Ferris Wheel was erected in Chicago by a Mr. Ferris for the 1893 Columbian Exposition. The original was a monstrous device; railroad cars were used to carry the passengers, and it took over 20 minutes to make a revolution.
