I reallly like this too! My one quibble would be that I think it looks a bit over-sharpened. Am I the only one to think so?

a striking, somewhat surreal photo! WOW! looks kinda 3-d.

It seems like you would have had slightly longer start trails for 60s. The lower tree is a little on the bright side but I like the sky and the other trees. Cindy

everyone, thank you for your comments. I really appreciate your feedback! I have only been at photography as a hobby for 9 months, and I'm still learning. I was coming home to my hotel on Lake Crescent after taking shots of First Beach on the Olympic Peninsula. I only took 4 or 5 exposures of the stars that night before my dogs and I were too tired and went to bed :) I got lucky on this one. Though after seeing the street lamps build up light on trees (and my subaru) I had a hunch they would build up on this shot.

This is one of the most phenomenal entries we've ever had in this challenge! It's 100% professional - looks like it came straight from a magazine ad, or a National Geographic article on stars or trees or something. It's incredibly graphics-like too. I absolutely love it. Consider yourself standing-ovated! ~ Lonnit

Canon 10-22. My favorite lens! The light on the trees is from 2 mercury vapor street lamps. I couldn't see the light when I aimed the camera. I just pointed it up. The light built up over the 60 second exposure to look like the trees were bright.

Oh my! One of my favorites. Did you use a flashlight to lighten the underside of the trees?

well, that is probably an EF-S 10-22 shot.

Great shot! What was the light source and lens used?
