Kind of a post-apocalyptic feel. Nice job! -Ed Hahn

Cool find. Like the hikey effect and blue gradient. theFly

What you can see is the far edge of the pool running parallel with the starting blocks, the pump house to the right of the blocks,a man standing on the pool edge, the waves beyond the pool edge breaking on the nearby rocks and to the left a guard rail and the headland in the distance.

I'm going back out there probably tomorrow night when the lights are on.
I also have the correctly exposed shots in the Vault for later.
Starting blocks at Merewether Ocean baths, about a forty minute quick drive from my place in the morning.
As for getting up early, the amount of light around before sunrise would necessitate arrival at least an hour before but unfortunately a little old chinese lady who was excercising told me they leave the lights on till 6 am.

I think that you could wake up, say, 15 mins earlier :-))

Very nice and stylish, thubleau. Hyper-reality indeed! Can it be true that I'm the only person to Google this, if only out of curiosity? I was going to embed in this comment the aerial view from Newcastle Helicopters, but, I'm not sure that it's my place to do something like this.

Be that as it may, I particularly liked the fade from white to pale, pale blue. And, as I cautioned people, thubleau or Grant or iso would come in and wow us...as they always do. But alexeig has a very strong entry...but so does camerashy, Sergio and others...of course.

Still, this is somthing to expect from thubleau....hi-key B&W, fading to pale blue, interesting subject well composed...as I noted, whatever he puts his mind to works out well.

Best Wishes,

Traveller

Starting blocks?

Can't distinguish either what it is... but I like it.

I don't know what this is but I like it. Almost looks like a drawing without resorting to a cheeseball photoshop trick. Is the horizon crooked though?
