Rescue Work *

San Diego, CA

True Story: After learning of the new challenge topic, I started thinking of different things I'd like to try to photograph. I was sharing these with my buddy who went to the baseball game with me tonight. One idea was that I would like to get a firetruck, with lights going.

Well, as we were trying to leave the parking structure after the game, we were stuck in terribly slow traffic. Sure enough, we heard the sirens, and I left the car (he was driving) to go and see what there was to see.

Mikel, Nice work! I like the feel of this image. It gives off a tension and urgency. And that that you had control over it, but I like the arm sticking out of the fire truck window. -Earl Waud

Fine work on this shot from the hip image.
I am also glad that now I know why fire engines are red.
Yet, what about the ones that are yellow.
Why are they yellow. Is there a Chinese saying to justify their yellowness.

Not quite the poem I was thinking of, but it is one of the...dare I say...punniest things I've read in a while.

There were green firetrucks/emergency vehicles in my hometown, I always thought it was a bit strange myself.

Fire engines are supposed to be red or red & white. Airport crash vehicles are allowed to be yellow, but that's it. White, green, blue or any other colour fire truck and it just ain't natural! (I used to be a fire fighter). Good shot, you caught the action and the light bar lit up.

Ben, is this the 'poen' you were looking for? :-)

Everyone knows that fire engines have 6 wheels and 6 men. 6 and 6 make 12. There are twelve inches in a foot. A foot is a ruler. Queen Elizabeth, a ruler, is the name of one of the largest ships on the seas. Seas have fish and fish have fins. The Finns fought the Russians and Russians are red and fire trucks are always rushin' therefore, fire trucks are red!

So I am going to try an experiment, and share another picture idea, and see if it happens: I'd really like the Swedish bikini team to show up in red bikinis needing my help for a photo shoot.

This reminds me of a poem I can't remember the title of and made me want to find my own firetruck to shoot...then I saw one and remembered that around here they're all white!

Sorry if this shows up twice! My internet was being funky.
