The Jetties at Nassau Sound *

Fernandina Beach, FL USA

Before anyone asks, the reason I used f/16 is because I was shooting
with a 135mm and forgot to adjust my aperture after I changed lenses.

Duouh!

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
1/60s f/16.0 at 10.0mm iso100 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Nice colors and composition. Good use of foreground.

Thanks everyone, for all of your comments. I reprocessed this and bumped up the contrast; I think it looks better.

Olaf, I wished I had used a lower f/stop because I feel like the image is just too soft.

BTW, what's wrong with using F16 for this kind of shot? Would you have preferred a smaller aperture (F22) for greater depth-of-field? - or a larger aperture (F11) for greater sharpness?

For more drama, I would up the contrast and saturation on this. When playing around, I achieved the best results by using the Shadow/Highligt feature of PhotoshopCS creatively (not for really for what it was intended).

Very nice wide angle, this should be my next lens to buy! Great sky too. A tad more of contrast and sharpness in the foreground, maybe?

I like it also....this is a beautiful shot, but...I have some small issue with the softness....Both in focus/DOF and the lack of a strong pull point...my eyes wander...maybe that's what makes it an interesting scape tho'! Cheers, :-D

Now you tell me . . . sheesh!

I waited patiently for beachcombers to get out of the frame before I took the shot. For some reason, I seem to think landscapes shouldn't have people in them (or at least, people dragging beach chairs and rafts). But why not?

Learning . . . learning . . .

Bruce, this is a very nice scene you captured here. What would have "made" the image click for me (no pun intended) would be a person, a cow, a recognizeable landmark to give the viewer perspective on the size of those rocks. Thanks for sharing. Markjay
