Clock-Watching *

Early-morning sun streaming through an arc window casts its shape
on the wall and I clock-watch until I leave for work. The
challenges have made me aware of light nuances, which are every-
where, some more pleasing than others. Shu

Shu, it is really a minor thing! Maybe it is because you didn't shoot at exactly 90 degrees to the wall? If you crop the image with the browser window the 9-dot is lower than the 3-dot, but at the same time the cabinet top is tilted slightly the other way - so probably due to perspective... Don't worry about it - the lighting and composition are great and make for an interesting and very graphic image anyway! --Olaf.dk

Olaf--I've just checked the clock. It is not tilted on the wall. I aimed my camera upward, but used a short stool in order to capture the fleeting light across the subject. I wanted to include the three wine glasses on display as well as the light atop the cabinet. I fail to see the problem you mention, however. Fine turning images comes with experience and honest critiques like yours. Thanks. Shu

Shu, this is a nice, graphic composition. I'm a little bothered by the fact that the clock seems to be tilted. The light is very nice - how did you achieve it? --Olaf.dk
