Waiting*

Strange image - I was standing in a crowded line of people trying to get through the security for President Bush's Inauguration and I managed to get this picture, which, despite the crowded atmosphere I was in, has a very lonely feel to it.

This is great. Seems like all the attention of this man is absorbed by hydrant and yet he is hesitant to come closer

Thanks for the comments. I'm not sure about cropping. I've played with it a little bit and I'm not sure if cropping the top and bottom helps the image. The focus is already clearly on the man, the wall, and the fire hydrant (your order may vary), and I think the eye isn't wasting too much time and the top and bottom.

I like this image but the only thing it probably needed was a slight crop of the foreground and at the top.It would have made the distance look greater , but probably it also needed that the image of the man be slightly larger and another point of interest in the direction the man is looking, I really can't think of anything else that would be needed.
As to the lack of comments............that happens..........I have had what I thought was a great shot , never received more than one comment and never got a vote......WHAT'S WRONG WITH PEOPLE!!!!!!!...........phew, I just had to say that.

I'm surprised no one else has commented on this image, because I think it's excellent. Wonderful textures and feeling of loneliness and expectation. Even the mono works well (I usually hate mono images, so take that comment for what it's worth). Well seen and very well captured.
