This is the reason why I love B&W shots. Very clever blend of textures, light and reflection. - Dick Tsang

Thanks all! AJ, the pattern is a knock off of a Richard Meier pattern out a few years back. theFly

I still love this image and it still reminds me that I have to get my Norton defragger working! ~ Lonnit

I keep coming back to this. And yup, that spot in the China edge where it "merges" with the checkerboard pattern is brilliant.

That is a really cool picture. My favorite part is the switch in the pattern on the saucer. My eyes are instantly transported there. I also like the subtle reflections in the cup. -- Victor

I have China VERY similar to that! I agree totally with Joe. You really thought every detail of this still life out and it shows. That checkered tablecloth (placemat?) pulls it together well. Great use of B&W.

I like the understated composition, directional light, use of B&W, and heavy contrast. Simple and appealing. "Tranports" one to the breakfast table on a quiet, sunny morning. Nice.
