I was really looking for fall and Halloween pictures when
I saw this cross on a grave yard. I just liked the textures
on the stone and the realization that a very long time must
have passed for it to be slowly covered all over like this.

What a fabulous subject & composition. This lighting is interesting, and good for color; long shadows would also be interesting. We get the weather we get. :-)

Are you kidding? This lighting looks perfect. It strikes a perfect balance between the light needed for well defined shadows (see the shadow of the horizontal member on the vertical member?) and the soft light needed to see all the beautiful detail in the lichens. -- Victor

Interesting and beautiful textures on the cross, Fret. The only thing missing is some well placed shadows over the surface, but the weather isn't cooperating I know.
