You are right - it is a very old newspaper. Not a real one though. I got a sheet of paper from Craft's store which looks like a very old newspaper. The shot was done using a softbox I have made recently.

Looks like newspaper, Ed. Reminds me of my childhood days (OK a million years ago) when people bought groundcoffee wrapped up in newspaper. Great shot, btw.
This is one of those images where I say to myself, "Why didn't I think of that!" Beautifully done, and perfect for this theme. You can also imagine a story of these little beans looking at their leader like Moses and the children of Israel at the Red Sea or the choir director of an immense chorus. Love it! -Byron
