Jamming

UK

My two sons were having a jamming session with their guitars. The room wasn't too well lit, but managed to hold a 1/25 sec at ISO 200.
The closest finger was being hammered on and off during a rift, so quite happy with the focus even showing the string indent.

I thought you meant because of the frets. -- Victor

For some reason, I kept thinking this was a FretNoMore-shot... [Meant as praise] --Olaf

About as on-topic as a shot can get. Very well taken.

As soon as this challenge topic was announced, I thought about taking a photo of myself playing a guitar, but I gave up on that idea when I saw this. It's much better than anything I could have done. I'm amazed that you could get this as a low-light action shot. --Garrett

The focus on that small portion of the guitar fret (i think that's what it's called) and fingers is ... well it's amazing actually. Nicely done.

The reflection is, indeed, from a different perspective. I confirmed this using Photoshop. So I conclude that it's a real reflection. Very interesting.... -- Victor

I'm particularly intrigued about the reflection of the fingers, but I haven't quite decided yet whether I think it's really a reflection or if it was applied in post processing. If it is an actual reflection, the perspective should be different from the actual pictures. If it's done by post processing, likely the perspective is the same, just mirrored. I wonder, too, how likely it is for a neck to be shiny enough to make a reflection so clear. If it is really a reflection, it's interesting that it's much clearer than the out of focu neck that it appears in. -- Victor

Hey Shu, I said that with Victor's picture....hmm corny hey??? :-)
Great vantage of view, the guitar strings draw you to his fingers.

Great action in this shot! The red and blue in the image adds to its vitality. (Would I be corny if I said I can almost hear music!!) LOL Shu

Thanks Phil, LOL... which is what you must have done when you spotted that mistake! Reading it again was hilarious, can't stop smiling.

Thank you all for your comments, glad you like it. I was really excited by this one and happy the way it turned out. Pete

"Closet finger"? :)
Great shot - I'd forgotten this was yours, Pete, so judged it un-biased! Very cool. Phil
