Excellent use of short DOF to soften her hair. The only thing I might try with a shot like this is to "debarrelize" it a small bit to make her seem a bit less puffy. Nice pastel colors. -Noel

I like the 'feel' of the colours in this image. Too much post processing can often give a photo like this a different feeling and not portray how it was seen at the time. In a dusky light very often colours are dulled and i get this feeling here, and i think it should stay this way, to allow me to conjure up the location and feeling at the time in my mind. - Jono

Olaf, it would be helpful if you could post your processed versions. Agree that it looks "milky" as you suggested, and would like to know how to fix that. Otherwise, a beautiful portrait, Carsten. /Anna

I wrote the comments below while on my computer at work. Here at home, my suggestion looks a bit too drastic. I split it up into two curves adjustment layers - one for the black point and one for the color cast removal. On the color cast removal layer I pulled down the opacity to 50%. Similarly, the other curves adjustment layer could do with some slightly lower opacity here on my home monitor. Both my monitors have been calibrated with the eye-one display calibrator, so go figure! --Olaf

I tried using curves and liked the following settings: locked the mid-tones on the RGB-channel with a point at 128/128 and then adjusted the black point input/output = 26/0. Also removed the slight blue color-cast by a point on the red curve at116/127 and blue curve at 140/127. May not be to your liking, but I thought it was an improvement. --Olaf

Carsten, a beautiful photograph of a beautiful woman! Seems a bit "milky". Could be easily fixed by adjusting the black point and maybe also the midtone point to compensate for the altered black point (using Curves or Levels). --Olaf
