Paul, much better, IMO!

Is this version better? I took all of your comments and with digital magic created this picture. You can find the original version here:http://www.pbase.com/paul_stuckless/image/33906849 . I would have retaken the picture, but I didn't have any more oranges as I ate my photo props. =Paul

My critique on this would be on the framing and position of the whole orange. The space above and underneath the plate are too equal IMO. I think the composition would be stronger if cropped so that the lower edge of the plate was allowed to cut into the plate. Only problem with that is the position of the whole orange. As a rescue of this photo, it could also be done on the top. Another problem is the amount of empty plate - again a crop could improve things, so below is a very quick attempt, but really, a re-shoot is what is needed. Let's not forget the good things here, the image is crisp, clear and colorful and those orange slices look appetizing! Good lighting too! --Olaf

I think the angle of the plate should be changed slightly (or the position of the lighting). The second orange slice (clockwise from top) has a distracting bright reflection from the plate right in the middle of it. -- Victor

Thanks Ed, but the Orange wouldn't stand out without the plate. Maybe if I used a different Backdrop (say maybe all white)? =Paul

Very nice and clean...(*)but maybe the graphic feel would be heightened without the plate? -Ed Hahn

Thank you Phil and Vikas for your comments. Goes to show how little I know about French. Shame on me! My 9 year old Daughter knew the right answer though, I should have asked her. "Le Orange" just sounded alot better than "The Orange". =Paul

Indeed "L'Orange" would be correct.
I could be wrong on this, but the orange at the bottom is not the one the slices come from is it? In which case you have Deux Orange (Orange a Deux?)... I think I'd have preferred to see the remaining half at the bottom... Phil

Very nice, clean with tempting colours.

Vikas

P.S. Pardon my French but shouldn't the title be L'Orange? :-)
