Great composition and color. The blown-out highlight on that metal circle is pretty distracting, though. - bee1000

Oh... I was *just* going to say that... Phil

OK I've kept you all in suspense for long enough. Olaf wins for best guess. It is a device for tightening the blades on a juicer. Thank you all for your critiques. =Paul

I've no idea what it is or what it's used for, but I LOVE the composition. Simple, clean, great colors.

OK, clue number one... the distance between the steel pegs is 3 inches (~75mm). =Paul

Hard to guess when there's no clue to the scale...
Something to do with watches maybe?

Thank you ISO and Olaf for your critiques. Here it is after using the Median command in PS. I had never used that before, very cool. I had noticed the distracting "noise" on the background, but wasn't sure how to get rid of it and make the widget stand out more. Now I know. Olaf, you are on the right track to guessing what it is... =Paul

Can't guess what it is, but those two steel pegs seem mighty important for its function - like they fit into some holes and then the widget serves as a kind of screwdriver... I agree with iso on cleaning up the noisy blue (paper texture?) Maybe it could be done using the Median-filter in Photoshop? --Olaf

Is it a Canon focus calibrator? :) Nice colourplay. The blue background could benefit from a bit of cleaning I feel.
