Entire-Oreos*
by Byron Stuckless

My Stove-Top

My first attempt at a still-life composition. I was originally going to call this one Intereoreos... but I figured that would be too much. In the absence of proper lighting, I decided to use the light from my range hood. Comments welcome!

Thank you Vikas. That means a lot coming from you. I've always admired your work.

Anders...sometimes you just got to do what you've got to do. I must say... the terrible part was having to eat the delicious cookies after I shot them. MMMMMM! I especially enjoyed the Ice-cream one. -Byron

My cholesterol-o-meter just went through the roof just by looking at that huge Oreo...
Nice picture with the brown/white palette. The range light is a great idea, maybe I'll get some use out of my kitchen appliances after all!

PS. Your jokes are terrible - I love them! :-)

Thanks for the clarificatin.... Actually, the center of the oreo cookie is pretty much 100% pure sweet LARD. Not the best cookie for your diet... but oh so yummy with milk. =^)

I think I'll do Byron the favour of explaining to non-US dpreview people what Oreos are. They're a pretty conventional custard cream with a chocolate-flavoured biscuit. For some reason I can't understand, they have an iconic status here in the US. Kids like to dip them in milk. - Jon Stern
