I took about 50 shots and they are all very different. This is the one I liked the best because it seemed she was looking at me right through the camera.

I don't quite see what Lonnit's talking about re: connecting with the camera. To my eye, it looks like the girl is trying very hard not to move during a long exposure. -- Victor
Well then, you couldn't have done a better job of showing how well she can connect with the camera!!! I really love this shot! ~ Lonnit

Thanks for your comments Debbi and Victor. I have sold some images and had a few published but it's not how I make my living. I used gausian blur on selected areas here and as you suggest Victor, I adjust the opacity to the desired softness. I really wanted to emphasize her eyes so this is an area I sharpened a bit. The hardest part of pp on this image was removing stray hairs from across her face. Repainting part of her mouth and the corner of one eye were the most challenging. Sarah is one of my brother's 3 beautiful daughters. She is hoping to act so I shot this as a head shot for her.

What a beautiful technique for a gorgeous child! You must be a professional?

What technique did you use to apply the softness? What I usually use is a guassian blur followed by a fade to taste. -- Victor

Thanks Lonnit. I take your comments as high praise. The original is tack sharp but I wanted a little softness. I might have overdone it a tad. - Jeff
She's so well connnected with the camera. Beautiful shot. Perhaps a tad too soft for some tastes, I think maybe just the very slightest bit less would have been my preference. A beauty though. You've started us off way up there! :) ~ Lonnit
