This is the hand of what the Thais tout as the largest Buddha in the world, located near Sukhothai in Northern Thailand. Worshippers come to praise him; some apply gold leaf to him. Thus the splotches of gold that you see.
He is absolutely massive, as emphasized by the people next to his hand.
