Mixed Peppers*
by Mooseknuckle

Iowa City

Joe, Olaf- you were right and i new it before you did. but i have never in my life flogged an image in photoshop as much as i have this one. i shot all these pictures within 20 minutes of one another and for the life of me, can't figure out why i can't get the colors to match those of the three unsliced peppers. to me, they appear very waxy and i was having trouble getting the orange to not bleed into the yellow when boosting the saturation. oh well, i'm 95% happy with the way they are now. but after 3.5 hours, it is time to move on. thanks for the honest criticism.

I like this, as I've already said elsewhere peppers are very popular in these parts (if the forum has cats, we have peppers) but I like what you've done here. Phil

Hmm, I never saw the original. But what I see right now looks pretty good to my eye and is my favourite of the three. Nothing to add to all the positive comments really. I personally would have had a small space between each pepper. But then I would wouldn't I?

Yeah yeah, sure, Olaf, but *I* said it first. \:-P

I really like the idea here, but like Joe I think it is a bit overexposed (came to that conclusion independently, before Joe had even commented). Maybe you were going for high key? Anyway, with this subject, an exposure like the "Sweet Peppers"-shot looks better, IMO. But the idea is more original and interesting in this shot! --Olaf

World-class idea, but a little too high-key for my eyes. A little too bright, the colors a bit washed. I prefer the deeper toning, deeper saturation, and more pronounced shadows on the peppers in your next shot. --Joe
