I really like this shot. It has wonderful color, composition and certainly movement. To me, the fixed propellers are of minimal concern. Gets my vote. Shu

Gorgeous. A tricky shot, no doubt -- a 'wing' and a prayer? Anyway, I love the composition of all the elements that came together in this shot. At the top of the comment page there is a mini copy of the shot, about 1.5" x 2" and it still translates beautifully.
This is a *very* nice image with a wonderful diagonal composition. But (*) it has one basic flaw: the fast shutter-speed freezes the propellers and therefore an important part of the notion of the aircrafts' movement. You do not want to see the prop-*blades*, but the prop-*arc*! In order to get this, you need a shutter-speed of maybe 1/100s. And now we have the dilemma of all airshow-photography with propeller driven aircraft: this relatively slow shutter-speed combined with relatively fast moving planes at a distance which translates into relatively great focal length form together the mix that is the *real* challenge here. (Check this picture by Julian to see what I mean: ; too bad there is no exif-data.) db.
