A factory had out-served its purpose. The buildings were left unused. Nature took its toll on the unmain-
tained structures. It was a mess - until ONE day - when the area was transformed into a park for the locals.
In Barcelona, the parks are really used - that's where people go out to socialize, oftentimes in the evenings.

This is a great example of how the Barcelonians, instead of erasing the past in the interest of progress,
often leave traces of the past when modernizing their city. History is everywhere - for everyone to see!
I loved that about Barcelona.
