Big Wheel

Industrial on the lighter side. This image was taken in Wells, Maine in a lot near the shore where numerous construction vehicles were parked. I took the shot mainly because of the red tractor and the green vechile parked behind it. I decided to turn it into an abstract on the basis of an irresistible artistic impulse.

The camera is Nikon 5000 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Guest--I wish I could tell you what "steps" It took to create this image. Each time I make an abstract from a digital photo, I usually crop the image, sharpen, increase the colors separately as needed, choose an artistic filter such as "cutout" and adjust according to what is visually pleasing, resharpen carefully, decide on whether the image should have increased contrast or lighting, and then do a final check on Pbase to see how it appears there. Sometimes I take the image back to PS to do several more adjustments. Every photo is different, none with the same processing perscription. I'm no help to you, I'm sure. I'm embarrassed to say I have no particular formula.....just personal visual satisfaction as the end result. Thank you for your interest.

Nice! I guess a Photoshop filter was involved - I don't think those come out all that great most of the time, but this treatment really works!

looks very natural; I'm impressed. Can you describe what set/sequence of filters were used?
