Thanks Olaf for the comments. The colour scheme is as shot by the way as there are purple/blue lights all around the bridge and weir where I took the shot not added hue or anything (don't know how to do that yet LOL).

I like this! One thing that bothers my eye slightly is that the gap between the two streams of water is almost in the middle. I am tempted to crop a bit on the right side, making the image square. But then I miss some of the white foaming water at the bottom, so ideally I would have liked this to be a vertical shot, keeping it cropped like suggested, but extended at the bottom with more white foaming water there. Sorry if that wasn't very clear! Nice shot nonetheless and I really like the color-scheme! Oh, I agree with camptown on the shutter speed... --Olaf.dk

Craig I did try shorter shutter speeds and the light balance was a bit off, I only have a couple of very small cards at the minute (waiting impatiently on my order to arrive) and so I deleted the other images on site so I don't even have one to show you. Also as Camptown's comment said I liked the misty effect of the water spray at the bottom of the little waterfall that was created with the longer shutter speed.

If I get time this weekend I might try to repeat the shot with shorter shutter speed.

I actually like the longer exposure here...it adds to the 'softness' of the shot and puts the focus back on the lighting.

There's an interesting collection of "purple textures" in this one, it invites detailed study. Nice.

Did you try different shutter speeds? I'm curious if a very short exposure might also be (differently) interesting.
