Me and My Shadow by Paul Sumi

Shot at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles for a CTF challenge. My high vantage point and the strong sidelight made this possible.

Canon PowerShot S400
1/200s f/13.0 at 22.2mm full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Markjay, LOL, you and Joe are right, although I note that the official challenge announcement says, "Your entries should show light or lighting as a MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR to the picture" (my emphasis). I assert that this photo would not be possible otherwise.

That's true of all photography, of course, and I'm kidding with my argument (hard to tell in print, I know). But I AM serious in saying that we should try to "stretch" how we approach and practice the craft/art that we all enjoy.

Oh - BTW, I'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV ;-)

Paul... you ar SO right. But you know, I was thinking the same thing Joe was. Your image is effective, had nice composition, has enough interest for the viewer, and the highlight of the image is.... the shadow, not the light :-) Markjay

Ah, Joe, but without light, would there be a shadow? ;-)

To me, this doesn't say "light", it sez "shadow", but I love the composition regardless. --Joe
