Museum Entryway Pattern
by Angela Johnson

The Milwaukee Art Museum has the most interesting architecture!!
This is one of the entryways, in an area near the windows.

I tilted my camera while shooting to
fill the frame with the unusual structure.

Only PS was framing.

Keep coming back to this picture - it's something about it that triggers associations to Sci-Fi movies, maybe Kubrick's 2001?. Maybe he used the same kind of white low-contrast look in some scenes?

Great shot, especially with the lighting Angela, usually very difficult to photograph white but you have done it so well....... Vikas

Thank you! Andrew, the light was actually not that bad in ratio. It was pretty gray (and slightly dark when I took this picture) outside yesterday and the museum's entryway is very well lit. I metered (in partial) off the ceiling then opened up half a stop. I bracketed and took about 3 shots to make sure I got one with good exposure.

Very intriguing. I like the way you used a single triangular shape and created this fascinating view. I looked for blown highlights but to no avail. Great capture, clean details, and great composition. A very difficult shot indeed. You must share how you obtained proper exposure on this.

Very nice! I like the lighting, tricky to get the details to come across despite all the white surfaces. Good work on light and contrast!
