Baby Lunar New Year

The face of this child has been obscured due to parental objection to the posting of this picture. At the time the photo was taken the parent gave permission to take the pictures and even preened the child for them.

lonnit: Wonderful portrait. Composition, expression, colors... all terrific. I do note the improved depth and sharpness you seem to be getting with RAW. Very nice. --Joe

You know, I just switched to RAW this week. It is most definitely having an impact on my shots. The colors are much better and the versatility, and workability of RAW is far superior to jpg! I completely understand why pros shot RAW. There's no comparison! ~ Lonnit

Thanks for the comments. :) I see what you mean about the top of the hat. I think it's the jpg factor. It's not in the bigger shot. I believe the intensity of the vivid red against the dark and more subtle green is just really too much for jpg to handle. ~ Lonnit

Beautiful child, wonderful portrait. I too would like to see a larger version with no frame. This photo doesn't need a frame.
Phil, the dark edge on the top of the hat looks like piping....part of the construction of the hat.

Absolutely magnificent, Lonnit.
I would like to see a large version, though. I'm slightly concerned about the top of the hat - it could just be jpeg artifacts, as I don't think it's sharpening that's giving the over-dark edge. Superb portrait. Phil

Lonnit,
It's a wonderful portrait with lovely colors and perfect exposure. As I mentioned in your forum post, I think a neutral frame would work well since the colors on her clothing are striking enough to stand alone. Roberta
