Art Gallery * by boldent2000

My wife, my kids, and me. I wanted to do something outside the normal mug shot for a family portrait. This is what I ended up with.

A lot of work went into this. Despite the give-aways I still think it was an adorable way for you to sneak in extra entries! LOL! ;) ~ Lonnit

Thanks for the comments. Your right about the shadows it does leave the room with an unfinished look. When I put it together I had all intentions of adding them but I never did. I've lost the PSD file and can't go any further with it. But, I learned quite a bit from doing it. The foor is from my living room and the hand rail is from a local theater. The base board is from my kitchen and the wall and frames are photoshopped. I wanted a rope hand rail but couldn't find one anywhere. So I went with this one. I had to redraw 90% of the hand rail and poles due to the original was in bad shape.

Very creative! IMO a weakness of this commendable piece of work, is the obvious "montage-quality" it posesses. The lighting is not consistant and therefore not perfectly credible. You and your spouse don't cast any shadows on the floor and the same is true for the posts of the "tape-railing" - leaving all those elements look like they are levitating above the floor. Also, the lighting on the picture frames is a give-away. Did you use a 3D-modeling program to create the room? I really like the idea though, and for that it still scores high! --Olaf

Great idea, well executed. THe only thing I can think is maybe you could have added texture to the "portraits", maybe even one in b/w, something like that. Good stuff, though. Phil
