sorry, forgot about the background - it is simply water from the ocean. This was shot at St-Petersburg Pier more specifically and the very large aperture enabled me to get this blurry blue background

Hi, my settings were as follows: F8 @ 1/1000 sec., 185mm, ISO:200, and -0.7 E.V. - this was shot at about 11 a.m. in Tampa in Florida in September. It was very sunny and warm and there was a lot of harsh light from the sun. I used exposure compensation to tone down the harsh light -
I meant to also comment on the image. It's not really wide, but I think it's a great picture. It's amazing how much color there is. I wonder if you could take some time to describe the lighting and the background.

Kind of off-topic, but do you know of any pelican books? I have a specific need for various pelican poses, and I'm having the darndest time finding any pelican books, mostly because there is a company called Pelican Books. If anyone can help me out, please contact me by email.
