OK. That should be "both means to an end".

Nice idea but I do not see "Opposites" in this image. They are both ends to a means...a photograph. Just a different way of accomplishing the same thing. Not quite opposite.

May I add yet another comment here? Nice work, Angela. Sometimes the simplest of forms are the hardest to "get right". How many times in the forums have we debated the fate of 35 mm format film VS. the power and popularity of the digital medium? :-) Mark J

I am with Mark on this one...you nailed the exposure!!! With natural light too and no Photoshop. I am impressed

Hi Angela,

Darn, I was really wishing you had a good light system. Now that its winter here in Maine there is little of that precious natural light you speak of. I like to shoot that way as well when I can but its hard to do when its pitch dark by 4:00pm. :-)

I didn't even catch the reflection of the CF card on the film leader on my first look. What a great representation, its almost as if the CF card is mocking the film can. This looks a like top placer to me. Excellent Work.

To Mark and Garrett, thanks!! Mark, as far as my light, I always use natural light. It's cheap and easy. For this I set up a piece of 80lb stock white paper and put the film and CF card on it. These were about a foot away from a window. I metered off the film and opened up a stop to get the white really bright white. Other than framing, no other PS.

Garrett, thanks for saying you like the reflection!! I was worried about whether or not that'd be bad. I like it, and am glad you see it as a plus! -- angela :)

I like how the CF card is reflected in the film. --Garrett

Hi Angela,

A perfect image for this challenge. As Victor said, I bet you beat a lot of people to the punch on this one. PS: I'm looking to buy a good light set, can you comment on your lighting for this shot. Thanks

LOL! I was going to shoot my D60 vs my EOS 3 for the exhibition gallery (since I'd have to shoot it with a Sony) but then I thought I'd simplify it and make it more obvious and do the mediums instead.

I'd be interested to see your representation too! Very refreshing to see the same theme through someone else's eyes. -- angela :)

You beat me to the punch!

Digital Vs. Analog....very cute idea.
