I must say that the Minolta is a really nice Digital Camera. The lens was just superb.
Ok, for the technical details on how the picture was done:
I used a blue bowl half filled with water. Put the bowl in my kitchen sink and set the faucet on slow drip.
Set the speed to 1/1450 of a sec, ISO-200. Rest was auto. Focal was 48mm. Don't know the 35mm equiv.
Take a lot of pic and hope for a few good ones.
This one turned out amazing. First time I saw it I tought of Abys right away!
Croped the resulting pictured, minor USM and Voila.
Hope this will help you realize similar or better ones.

Nicely done! Care to tell us how you did it? The Minolta's noise in the blue channel comes through here and makes it look like it was shot on film (film grain). I also saw the movie and the shape looks very familiar... Olaf.dk
Cool picture with an interesting twist in the match you've made. Whilst I understand it, anyone who has not seen The Abyss would not get the connection. Could easily be Waterworld or Splash though.
Bernard,
What a wonderful interpretation of a wonderful movie. It is totally the water tentacle and I can almost see it forming the face of Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. ;) -Earl Waud
