I went to watch a friend race in a Head Race at the Port of Sacramento. Earlier in the day I had another opportunity to take almost the same shot but was so focused on looking for her boat to photograph that it wasn't until the moment had passed that I thought wow that would make a good Together and Alone shot. So luckily for me the fates awarded me another chance a few minutes later.

I like this shot. I thought about looking for the same thing minus the lone rower, but the opportunity seemed slim. The boat with the single rower makes the shot. I live in Austin and sometimes we find crews like this practicing in Town Lake.
