No problem with front or back focus on your Canon Lev.
Love the shot.

I love it!!! This is just a great represetation. The dof works very well. It could mean many things. I was thinking that if you worked the dof the other way, where all were included, you could call it "Diversity", which could represent togetherness or lonliness. Very cool. Now, if I were to suggest anything, I'd suggest maybe boosting some levels to for a little more effect.

Wonderful.

Earl,
I didn't need additional blur, f1.8 provided plenty :)

Daveed,
light source - office window. The shadows are sharp because the sun was on my side of the building at the time.

Very well done, very impressive!

Great idea nicely done. I can't make my mind up if that blur is 100% natural from your F1.8, but the resulting image is cool however you've achieved it. In my mind I see this image with a bit more colour in it, maybe the pins a bit more saturated on a lighter background. But that's just the way I work......... I really like this one.

A question: What were the light sources for this picture?
Daveed V. 09-Oct-2003 19:29
Oooh... this is so good! Perfect idea, perfect execution. The blur and the slant of the colored ones imbues a sense of motion, which in turn makes the viewer identify with the white pin. This is excellent on so many levels. Congrats!

Excellent! I really like it. The idea is hugely creative. The colors work, the tight DOF works (I saw you shot at f/1.8. Did you still have to add more blur?), and the idea fits perfectly. Well done. E-
