I agree, the watch is important for the impact of the shot. It reinforces the theme of time: the differences in time conveyed by the obious differences in age, and the implied passing of time.

Very expressive photo, which tells a story all on its own merits. I didn't need the text to be touched. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the text, or the explanation it gave, just that in this case the photo actually did say more than a thousand words... – Olaf
