Good idea! I think I would have kept some of the reflections in the lens on top of the older image. Also, a feahtered edge on the image inside the lens would improve the illusion.
This is really interesting. I love the effect of your recent self contrasted against your younger self too. It's almost as though you still feel 20 something when you are behind the lens. Lisafx

I agree with Joe. the blue eye gazing into the past (at younger self, reflected in the lens) makes it for me -johnebones
John M: Strong, punch-in-eye image! From the penetrating blue eye to the blend of B&W tones, this image just plain *works*. The dated self-portrait adds a dash of color, a second point of interest, and a bit of a story. Powerful! --Joe
