The Music of Nature Rushing

The difficulty with this is that it is hand held...I had no tripod...but the image seems to have worked out moderately well

Canon EOS 350D
1/8s f/22.0 at 17.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

When you describe the difficulty with this - not having a tripod - I think you are forgetting to look at the big picture. Having read your story from Laos, I'd say the big difficulty was getting there - and back! Nice capture of a special place - and as others have pointed out - well done - tripod or not!

Thanks Michael, I suspect you are correct....I can hand hold the 17-85 IS down to 1/8th of a second....thanks to Image Stabalization....Gads, I do love Canon IS lenses.

Best Wishes, Traveller

I think you have done exceptionally well to achieve this hand held Traveller. I doubt that a slower shutter speed would have made much difference to the water and it would almost certainly have blurred the rest of the image. The exposure is just about perfect also, with detail from the highlights to the shadows. And.....it's a beautiful photo, by the way. Regards, Michael

Wonderful!

Thanks Bob, sometimes I think I'd like to have had a greater blurring effect....but maybe not...and you've got to shoot with what you've got.

re Gravel....ahem....I don't like gravel and I dislike rocks even more.

Be that as it may, for riding without a helmet, (!!...Incomprehensiably stupid), I am healing...the brand new bright pink skin on my arms and legs will blend eventually...even three weeks into this...the deeper wounds are still heavily scabbed over...who knows what's under there?

Stay away from gravel....lol...especially in short pants and shirts...(sometimes I wonder about myself)

Best wishes, Traveller

It worked out very well Trav, bridal veil shots are not easy without a steady support.

So... that means you must be a steady sort of guy...? :-)

Although.... anyone who fangs around the jungle on a motorcycle wearing little more than a lap lap (... OK.. perhaps a little more?) ... must have nerves of steel?

Nice image, Regards Beemer Bob (who is also known to have close connections with the gravel of late.)
