Reflected Projection

Sydney

A performance projection of beautiful light art onto the iconic Sydney Opera House Sails, creating a living, interactive media façade on this white architectural canvass.
by Brian Eno

The intent is the reflection of projected light off the white sails of the Opera House

Then EVERY image is a reflection image since it's reflected off the back of our eyeball and on the camera parts themselves. ~Lydia

Of course they projected the image onto the glazed tiles, it is then reflected to the eye otherwise you would not see it.
Also if the viewer is reflecting in their mind about reflections then my job is done......like all art it should make people think .

VERY interesting entry here... I like how it makes the viewer consider if this is on- or off-topic.

It all depends on HOW they got the color to the building, I suppose. Did they reflect the color onto the building or... use a projector to project the images onto the building as it appears to me?

But... even so... it leaves room for doubt. I just don't know.

I DO know that this is a beautiful image. So fun and out of the ordinary way we see this scene. ~Lydia

K2 there is a shadow plain to see , cast on the sail, a shadow is absence of light so it can't be a reflection.
Just the same there is plenty of light reflected in various forms off the glass and the walls

I believe Jim that he uses multiple projectors and the colours and patterns change every say, 5 to 10 minutes.
The night I shot this it was pouring rain, so I sat in the car till it eased (double parked but I had a driver who stayed with the car). and then set up and took as many photos as I could as quickly as I could.
Unfortunately I had not switched off the IS and a lot of shots were blurred in the process.

I heard about this on BBC radio late the other night since the public radio station we get here carries BBC from midnight until 5AM most nights. It made me want to visit Sydney to see it. It's beautiful. And seeing it in your photo makes me wish I could visit Sydney even more. Is it all projected from one projector in a single location? Jim H.

I wonder if Lydia thinks of this as shadows, but I'll swallow the reflection theory. Most unusual picture of the Sydney Opera I've seen till now, nice catch.
