Grusome shot, indeed, but your title makes it a bit more easily enjoyed with the humor. Nicely shot, Michael. ~Lydia

Shame! It cost the giraffe more than just an arm and a leg, if you do no mind me saying so. A reflection of the harsh realities of trying to survive in a tough world. Nice one, Michael! Regards Nico

Thanks Mary Anne. It was taken in a game reserve in South Africa. This animal is a brown hyena and it was having a contest with a jackal for possession of the carcase of a young giraffe. Finally the hyena had had enough and it picked up a leg that had become separated from the giraffe's body and walked slowly away. A bit gruesome, but that's life in the bush. Brown hyenas are mainly scavenagers and less aggressive than the more commonly seen spotted variety. I don't expect this shot to get votes, but I was going through some of my old images yesterday and the caption popped into my head. Regards Michael

Well shot and composed, but rather bizarre. Can you explain what's happening here, Michael?
