Melb, thank you. :) She kept coming at me with great poses and expressions before I could even get a chance to direct her! I was too busy shooting to have an opportunity to actually ask her to do anything. LOL!

BTW, my next birthday is approaching quickly. I'm about 5 weeks from 49. No chance of claiming 25. LOL! ~ Lonnit

My pleasure, Nico. I'm just happy that you liked the image. :) ~ Lonnit

Pretty young lady, nice expression and tastefully processed Lonnit.

The only 'downside' is possibly the problem you might face in claiming your next birthday as your 25th. ?..... but I could be wrong... ? ... lol

I really like the colour portraits as well, she models very well.

Regards Melbob

Thanks, Lonnit, for taking the time and trouble to share all of that... very interesting and helpful. Kind regards Nico

Yes, Trav, she has many different looks in this shoot. There are more frames that are different from these and one another. She's a great little model!

As for the conversion, I used an Alien Skin Exposure BW conversion to start (I think it was the daguerrotype), tweaked it to customize, then put the whole thing thru a PS filter - maybe it was watercolor? Then adjusted the opacity. I generally love the AS Exposure BW filters, as well as the color film filters.

As a typical workflow, after RAW conversion, my first step is to crop an image, if necessary, then run it through an AS filter to get the film type I like for the image. I might use it full blast, I might use it subtly. I shoot RAW with all the bells & whistles turned off to get the most unaffected image from the camera. I feel this gives me the most flexibility to take the image in any direction I want later. Sometimes after that I will also run it through a Nik filter. More often than not though, I will use a Nik instead of an AS, as opposed to using it with an AS. I might play around with blending options and I also adjust opacity for more or less of the effect. EVERY image, except for the rare times I do a white fade at the edges, gets burned in around the edges. I don't consider it finished until that step is done.

Thanks all for commenting. ~ Lonnit

Excellent bw conversion! Do you have a special trick/technique for converting from colour to bw? Would love to learn from you. Regards Nico

This is extremely well done, Lonnit! I love the eyes!
Lonnit, are you joining us for the NYC get-together on March 28th? I sent you an email but haven't heard from you yet. We would love to have you along! Let me know! ~Sharon

What has been interesting to me, Lonnit, is that all three, (now 4), portraits show a...different young lady...to me. Nice, all of 'em. Traveller
