I've been back a few times, too. That curve of a splash, nearly breaking into a droplet is just perfect. I won't ask how many shots it took to get this perfect one! -dtallakson

OK, I've been here at least a dozen time. I still love this shot.

I remember the first attempt (in fact it was my CTF challenge) and loved the shot then. This one is great and improved! You've been pining for this cat, haven't you:-)

Fun shot Lydia and I know how long it takes to get a decent splash! Good one for the topic! CJ

Thank you, Pops... but I think you're already more expert than I at this technique. *sigh* ~Lydia

Someday, Miss Lydia, you will have to do a seminar on how to get fabulously creative shots with very ordinary props.
Guest 21-Feb-2009 21:02
Very nice, Lydia! Comparatively speaking, this shot is more lively and colorful than your last, but still both are wonderful.

Thanks, fellows! I did one almost exactly like this a couple of years ago for "Sound". I looked back at it to put it into Exhibtion and discovered I'd gotten a bit better at photography (and PS) since then, so decided to reshoot.

It's in a light tent... I dropped ice from above while clicking the remote with my other hand, but I didn't like any of the splashes. So, I shook the posterboard it was sitting on and clicked instead. I cloned out a couple of red spots on the ground from splatters. ~Lydia

Lydia, what a cool image to kick off Eligible with. Super set-up and lighting... would you care to explain the "how I did it" bits? Compliments!
