First, I found a picture that had a good selection of spectrum colors. I used Roberta Fair's winning shot in challenge 8 - Liquids. One of my all time favorite Challenge photos. You can see the full size image in The Best of 2004 gallery or the Challenge 8 - Liquids Eligible gallery.

In photoshop I placed the cursor over each color and recorded it's three RGB values. (Click Windows -> Info if it's not displayed) For instance the green paint was 21, 83, 16. That's on a scale from 0 to 255. I needed to convert those numbers to a percentage of 255. The Channel Mixer uses a scale of 0 to 100%. I did that in Excel and got the data below.

You'll see that the green is 8%, 33% & 6% and I'm going to use green as a sample of the work flow.

I isolated the match head for the green match and opened the Channel Mixer by clicking Image -> Adjustments -> Channel Mixer.

With the Output Channel set to red I set the Red Source Channel to 8% (It was 100%)

With the Output Channel set to Green I set the Green Source Channel to 33% (It was 100%)

With the Output Channel set to Blue I set the Blue Source Channel to 6% (It was 100%)
Click on OK

I now have a green match head!

I did the same thing to each match head to get all my colors. It's important to do all three Output Channels for each color.
