Thank You all for the great comments. Lydia, my wife has been wanting to modernize the stove for a while now, I think it might be time..... (smiles to self)

Next good meal, tell your wife that her stove really cooks well. *big grin*
I'm glad you're here, John. You should have shown your presence sooner. :) ~Lydia

Even a blind dog finds a bone once and a while Lydia. This is really my first DSLR I got it 2 days before christmas. Prior to this I had a Sony dsc-f828 P+S it was a fun camera but most situations were a challenge to it. My wife made the mistake of telling me if I sold the sony I could buy a DSLR,camera was gone 2 days later, eos arrived 5 days after that. So I am breaking the news to her now that in 2 or 3 years when I am ready to move up to a full frame camera we are not selling the 50D lol. As far as my entry goes, that is more the members here than me that is responsible. For roughly a year and a half I have been lurking and looking and learning here. It only took me about 3 hours and about 20 shots to find the right light in the right window to get the shadows in the indents lol. My wife saw this picture and said "wow this camera takes much better pictures" I smiled to myself and told her she was right.

By the looks of this, this 50D is not your first DSLR camera. What's your history, John... if you don't mind sharing. We'd like to get to know you... ~Lydia

Nice shot, good comp and background, and a very fitting title. It isn't hard to see that a lot of work went into it... 6 months.. that's a lot of lonely hours. You have a persistent uncle.
(And the entry as such is in perfect order.. size and info seems to be correct. Welcome aboard! :)
