Thanks Tom, Lydia and Jim :-) I appreciate you explaining what exactly this thing is called Jim and have changed the title accordingly. This is no longer being used in the original way but is part of a bench (the red is a metal seat that came off a tractor) that is attached to the side of a clapboard building.

Nice detail of the hames. Actually if the hames are still used as originally intended the ring is not a tie down but it holds up the tongue of horse drawn equipment or wagon.

Nice added contrast - green matallic against washed out red. Jeeez I like that camera's natural gradation of tones and resolution. -tv
