Thinking Outside the Box

This is such a coolly-shaped box that I just had to find something fun to do with it.
It's about a foot high... and my model/son is just over six feet high. Fun stuff to do.

other sizes: small medium original auto

How do you get the shadows to match the color of the box? I'm sure he was probably next to a white wall? Thats one trick I haven't figured out yet.
Great job

Thanks, Dylan! I had him stand coming from around a door frame to get the stance right. He's a photographer, too... so he was up for the challenge. :) We had a fun half-hour of figuring it all out together. I told him what I wanted and he knew right away what to do. ~Lydia

I think the biggest challenge of a composite is to make it credible. And you did a great job with it, even though the small/large perspective obviously made this shot not real. Shadows on him, shadows on box, hand and feet positions are all natural.

Thanks, Trav! I really learned a lot about light while working on these shadows. None of them are real except the one on the back wall.

And you're right. He IS a good-looking kid! :) He looks almost identical to My Beloved. Thanks for saying so. ~Lydia
